Hello readers! ♡ I want to start this blog post off with a thank you to word press for having this platform to be able to share and connect with the world, I have only joined this year and feel so happy to able to share my insights and inspiration. I have found a whole new world of excitement on this platform away from Instagram. Isn’t it just amazing how many different thoughts and ideas that can be shared authentically in a piece of writing?

Thank you to all of you that have been following The Wishing Well space over the last couple of weeks, this is definitely the most present I have been on here lately. As I begin my dissertation online I have been spending my spare time writing my personal thoughts and reflections on The Wishing Well!

My name is Katie and I first created this space in January 2020 when half way through my Masters degree I really felt an urge to share and try to reach as many people as I can online to heal imbalances in the mind & body as I question and learn for myself on my own journey of wellness. Ultimately, I don’t believe in quick fixes or diets as a solution for long term wellness and aim to promote a holistic approach to health considering both mind & body consciousness in every day life to better ourselves and the planet for sustainability.

I have came to realize that every individual is vastly different and there is no “one” diet or “one” mindset that fits all, I enjoy sharing plant based recipes and different wellness topics for every day mindfulness.. My insights are it’s how we live our every day life that is the real meditation.

I wrote a little more on my story in the ‘connect’ page where I explain when I “found the light”.. okay so I didn’t find a treasure box filled with a flood of light where I experienced my spiritual awakening that led me to want to find more about myself and turned me into a public health vegan master student.. so all of that was true minus the treasure box.. and the point to this story is when I experienced the darkest times in my own life, I found a whole other side to myself that felt like light inside, filled with answers to questions I had always asked. I found freedom in my mind.

It is during our darkest moments that we must focus to see the light – Aristotle

I remember the first day I shared my story with the world on YouTube as I was living in Portugal, feeling a little bold I decided to reach out to anyone on ways to self love after a toxic relationship as I was undergoing the biggest transformation period of my life after walking away from this exact situation.

From this day I realised how many people were feeling the same as I was after receiving messages of people reaching out to me and how many people felt positively better after knowing somebody felt the same as them and overcame it. This is where it all began for me and why I share online to connect and help others. Sharing my darkest days and questioning how we can as collective, heal from these dark times to shine more light than ever afterwards.
